Some say a picture is worth a thousand words. If it helps you to see important characteristics of your business or trends affecting it, that picture may have value beyond words. Here are a few tools and examples we’ve developed.

What Is My Business Worth? is a business valuation calculator based on an EBITDA multiplier. You enter a few key numbers for your business (sales, sales growth rate, profit margin), the overall impact on profit that a buyer expect, and an EBITDA multiplier. Watch it calculate the value of your business over 5 years. Play with the inputs to see what drives value. The calculator even considers the returns a buyer may experience based on an assumed debt level and interest rate. The importance of all inputs is described in a series of “What & Why?” tabs. We wanted to create a “what if” calculator that could be easily distributed in a fully-functional PDF, so we let an 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of paper in portrait mode control the size of the design.
