What Does Error Code -6032, -158 Mean?

Chief Mechanic · August 31, 2010 ·

According to Intuit, Error Code -6032, -158: “An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to access the company file” is caused by an internal database error when converting a company file to a newer version of QuickBooks.

The recommended solution is to attempt to verify the QuickBooks company file (.qbw) in the earlier version of QuickBooks and to rebuild the company file using the earlier version of QuickBooks.

For more information on resolving this error, consult this Intuit knowledge base article.
